Duy Le

Duy started off his career at Drexel University as a Biological Sciences major with the hope of diving into either research or clinical work. He explored the path of research through his experience in Dr. Michael Akins' lab as part of the STAR Scholars Program where he studied the strain-dependence of axonal translation in adult mice under the guidance of Dr. Michael Akins and PhD candidate Molly Mitchell. After completing the research program, Duy accepted a co-op position at Shanghai East Hospital and Renji Hospital in Shanghai as a Pre-Med Intern, where he participated and won third prize at the 2014 Annual International Nursing Skill Contest. Though Duy was doing well as a Biological Sciences major, he realized that it wasn’t something that he would put all of his heart into, something that he was completely passionate about. His experience in Shanghai led him to the realization of his passion for learning new languages and experiencing different cultures. As a result, he returned to China once again for his second co-op with the goal to master Chinese and to gain a more complete understanding of the Chinese culture.

Duy is currently pursuing a career in Marketing and International Business where he hopes to put his passion to use. Since a strong global network along with knowledge about different cultures and languages is important for him in terms of understanding the consumer behaviors and the global market, Duy is fulfilling his professional goals by participating in an exchange program at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea, with the help of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.
